Task decomposition issue

Alex Shirokov, 4 months, 4 weeks

I found BPMN is great and easy to understand by non-IT users. So I use it intensively in my business-analysis activities. But I faced the challenge of task decomposition by swimlanes. Let's say, I've modeled business activity in general:

general activity

Now, I want to decompose a task "workout a treaty" by lanes, according with company department's business roles. And I want to save a connection's integrity of the model (which I like so much in IDEFx). What is the best way to do this, if there is?

Is my suggestion correct?:

lane decomposition 1

Yes you're on the right path. That's the way to decompose it.

Hello. Does BPMN allow a subprocess (or any other activity) to span multiple lanes, like in the example above? I always assumed that it was not correct. Is it, really?

Please to reply.
